“Finally, from so little sleeping and so much reading, his brain dried up and he went completely out of his mind.”
From Don Quixote By Miguel de Cervantes
During my studies I'm being forced to read a lot of literature. Some I like, some I don't. Then I thought - Maybe other people might enjoy reading some of the good stuff I've found over my course of study! Crazy idea, right?
Here you will find a short summary of the text and a sentence or two why I liked this particular work.
If you're interested in what I'm currently reading check out my Reading This Week sidebar.
Hope you enjoy and give your own thoughts on any of the books you read!
The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson
Mr Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
Shadowmagic by John Lenahan
Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut
The Talented Mr Ripley by Patricia Highsmith
Sold by Patricia McCormick
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness

Couldn't help but notice in your "Reading this Week" - Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!
ReplyDelete:) I can't help but love Pigeon, even though he can rather annoying at times. The best one is the one with the cookie - can't remember its exact name. Glad to see you're digging deep into some thought-provoking literary genius that is Pigeon. Grad school must be hard.
Favorite part about that week of reading was when the class got together and read the picture books aloud to each other. They made me read Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus because they said it had an "American sound" and was best when I read it! So funny! Good times, good times.
DeleteI finally got to this link. What a great list of books and plots. I am waiting for Mom to get ready for the Y. Dad
